IEW Instructor

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and have been homeschooling my nine children for over twenty years. Teaching writing is truly one of my greatest joys. Through years of educating my own children—four biological and five adopted—I have developed a deep appreciation for structured, incremental instruction and the confidence it builds in young writers.

I love using the IEW method because it gives students clear tools that help them move from uncertainty to capability. Watching reluctant writers grow in skill, organization, and creativity is incredibly rewarding. My goal is not only to help students write well, but to help them think clearly and communicate effectively.

In addition, I am a Certified Reading Specialist through the Barton Reading & Spelling System, which equips me to support students who need structured, research-based reading instruction. I am passionate about partnering with families to cultivate strong readers, thoughtful writers, and confident learners.
